A day of meetings...

Today has been a very productive day - filling my time with extra curricular activities is always a sensible idea when I have so much uni work on heehee!

But, I like having time challenges so have dived in to the next set of activities full pelt!

This morning we met with Jack from the UAL Students Union to discuss how to spread the sustainability word to a whole new set of first years during freshers week, and how we can include lots of different types of people from all the different university campuses...challenging to say the least!!

Next up was a lovely lunch and catch up with Julia...then onto the next meeting!

The next meeting was also a chance to meet up with a few more amazing course friends who I haven't seen since the Sri Lanka trip so it was really nice to catch up with them!

The Meeting was to initiate plans for a few workshops also being held in Freshers week with the Centre for Sustainable Fashion - they sound exciting - and I can't wait to get stuck in!

So now its an evening of hard work and panic ahead of me...great...

ABOUT ME

Zoe Grace Fletcher Currently undertaking a PhD at Manchester Metropolitan University within the MIRIAD post-graduate department, I am beginning a practice based academic journey into British wool fibres and new technologies within knitwear design. Graduating with Distinction from a Masters in Fashion and the Environment at London College of Fashion, specialising in hand-knitting and the British Wool Industry, I have worked on a number of knitwear collections (personal and external companies), whilst freelancing and researching for a number of exciting projects. My work revolves around the idea of sustainable fashion from a knitted perspective and the different ways to achieve this incorporating the ideas of slow fashion into mainstream society. I love knitting. And wool. And double sided sticky tape.
