Save Our Skills

Oops..my updating has gone down the drain at the minute - I've had too many projects on the go taking up every second of my time (now I just need to earn a good living from them and i'm sorted heehee!)

The Footprint awards dresses are coming on spectacularly - i'm so excited to see them finished and shot beautifully in a high-fashion context!

Tonight is filled up with sampling the dress pieces on a mannequin - pictures to follow!

Last week I had an amazing time with Julia at Junky Styling's new collection catwalk night - there were some beautiful pieces going down the catwalk - with amazing shapes and tailoring turning old shapeless garments into ultra-stylish fashion pieces!

Anyway the main aim of the post - Kelly and I have finished the initial business plan for our new project - Save Our Skills - i'm so excited to get it underway and document the amazing talent we have in Britain today!

ABOUT ME

Zoe Grace Fletcher Currently undertaking a PhD at Manchester Metropolitan University within the MIRIAD post-graduate department, I am beginning a practice based academic journey into British wool fibres and new technologies within knitwear design. Graduating with Distinction from a Masters in Fashion and the Environment at London College of Fashion, specialising in hand-knitting and the British Wool Industry, I have worked on a number of knitwear collections (personal and external companies), whilst freelancing and researching for a number of exciting projects. My work revolves around the idea of sustainable fashion from a knitted perspective and the different ways to achieve this incorporating the ideas of slow fashion into mainstream society. I love knitting. And wool. And double sided sticky tape.
