Yesterday was really hectic... we held the TD4F bake sale to raise money for our exhibition catalogue in the students union and had so many cakes it was untrue, they wouldn't all fit on the table we were given, we also had a kind of jumble sale with loads of fabric remnants and old clothes which seemed really popular!!... we managed to sell all of the cakes and raised about £150 which is amazing!! I then headed back to Bolton and picked up two 32" tv's ready for my exhibition (who says working for an electrical company doesn't have its perks heehee!!), wall mounts and managed to steal my sisters small tv that will hopefully fit in well for the 'head' part of my exhibition!! I also stocked up on DVD's to burn my films onto, scart leads and 2 dvd players swiftly removed from my grandparents and parents houses before much noise was made!! So hopefully I can begin putting up my exhibition on Monday and see what space I have left to put my knitting and suchlike in!! So much more to do still!! Heres a couple of pictures from the cake stall!!...

ABOUT ME

Zoe Grace Fletcher Currently undertaking a PhD at Manchester Metropolitan University within the MIRIAD post-graduate department, I am beginning a practice based academic journey into British wool fibres and new technologies within knitwear design. Graduating with Distinction from a Masters in Fashion and the Environment at London College of Fashion, specialising in hand-knitting and the British Wool Industry, I have worked on a number of knitwear collections (personal and external companies), whilst freelancing and researching for a number of exciting projects. My work revolves around the idea of sustainable fashion from a knitted perspective and the different ways to achieve this incorporating the ideas of slow fashion into mainstream society. I love knitting. And wool. And double sided sticky tape.
