What do I keep in my pockets?...

Posted by Zoe Fletcher on Sunday, February 21, 2010,
I apparently keep a lot of rubbish in my pockets...I think my pockets are more like boys pockets, as i'm not a fan of the handbag everything just gets shoved in the most convenient pocket...resulting in weeks of old receipts, ticket stubs, tissues and various small change arriving on my bed in a big pile when I eventually get around to emptying my now bulging pockets!!...

I am working on how to display this mess in a creative...yet organised way...wish me luck!!

I have been focusing on my new Sustainable Solutions project, encompassing the ideas of 'everlasting' and what that means in the fashion world...I have begun to experiment with pockets, people have useful pockets, aesthetically pleasing pockets, comfort pockets. Excuses Excuses...

My New Years resolution went seriously wrong....I seem to have been busier than ever...rushing round from one place to the next, not stopping to sit and write down anything i've done!

So this is going to be a super long catch up for me to collect my own thoughts as well as bore you with my activities!

I'm going to do it in reverse order to help my brain...

Monday saw me down at South Bank as the second years on my MA had their final exhibition show...it was great to see their final collections ...

ABOUT ME

Zoe Grace Fletcher Currently undertaking a PhD at Manchester Metropolitan University within the MIRIAD post-graduate department, I am beginning a practice based academic journey into British wool fibres and new technologies within knitwear design. Graduating with Distinction from a Masters in Fashion and the Environment at London College of Fashion, specialising in hand-knitting and the British Wool Industry, I have worked on a number of knitwear collections (personal and external companies), whilst freelancing and researching for a number of exciting projects. My work revolves around the idea of sustainable fashion from a knitted perspective and the different ways to achieve this incorporating the ideas of slow fashion into mainstream society. I love knitting. And wool. And double sided sticky tape.
